Professional Internship

The first step towards a career in law.

The Professional Internship Programme at Antas da Cunha Ecija is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, enabling future lawyers to develop technical skills, gain an understanding of different areas of practice and acquire a broad overview of the profession.

Throughout the program, interns join different practice groups, work on real client matters, and gain firsthand exposure to the day-to-day work of associates and partners, playing an active role in the life of the firm.

More than just a mandatory step towards entering the profession, we believe that the internship should be an opportunity to learn, grow and lay the foundations for a solid career.

What you can expect:

1. Rotation through different practice areas

Throughout the placement, participants have the opportunity to work across four distinct practice areas, gaining a broad overview of the legal profession and coming into contact with different sectors and types of clients.

2. Close mentoring

From day one, each trainee is supported by:

  • Buddy: A colleague who helps with settling into the firm and guides you through your first steps in the programme.
  • Mentor: Responsible for providing technical and professional guidance throughout the placement.

3. Continuous learning

Technical development is complemented by training initiatives organised by the Antas da Cunha Ecija Academy, enabling interns to strengthen their legal, technological and behavioural skills.

4. Feedback and development

We value a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, promoting regular opportunities for feedback and support throughout the programme.
