Ana Catarina Silva

Ana Catarina Silva focuses her practice on Privacy and Personal Data Protection, E-commerce, Cybersecurity, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, advising clients in Portugal and across several European Union Member States.

With more than eight years of professional experience, she has served as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) for various public and private entities, delivering training in data protection and cybersecurity matters. In addition to her legal practice, she also provides technology consultancy services, offering an integrated and multidisciplinary approach that combines technical expertise with a solid legal background.

She holds several certifications issued by the Portuguese National Cybersecurity Centre (CNCS) in the areas of cybersecurity best practices, cyber-aware citizenship, and cyber-aware consumer protection, as well as certifications from entities such as the Portuguese Insurers Association.

Her academic background includes participation in several conferences and workshops במסגרת her Master’s degree studies, namely: International Conferences on Smart Cities; Web Crimes – File Sharing According to the Law (The Strike Case), with Andrew Sampson; Dark Web: The Crime Under the Veil of Anonymity; Software Agents; Cybercrime: The National Context in a Global Scenario; Copyright Law and Its Context; and the International Workshop on Electronic Identification and Data Protection – The European Regulations.

She began her career at PRIMAVERA Business Software Solutions (2015–2017) as a Data Protection/Privacy Legal Advisor, where she also developed her master’s dissertation entitled “Legal Analysis of Sensitive Information Management in Cloud Services.”

In 2017, she joined ECIJA Law & Technology, in Madrid, as a legal consultant in the field of data protection and privacy. She has been with Antas da Cunha Ecija since 2017.
