The Winners of the 40 under Forty Awards
Tonight, Madrid’s Museo del Traje was the scene of the celebration the fourth Biannual Iberian Lawyer’s 40 under Forty Awards. The only Awards that bring together the global legal markets, the Ceremony honoured the leading 40 lawyers across Spain and Portugal under the age of 40.
The winners include lawyers from within major businesses and law firms based in Barcelona, Lisbon and Madrid. This year the Awards Ceremony was attended by over two hundred guests including General Counsel and Managing Partners, and followed by a Gala Reception within the Museo del Traje’s spectacular gardens.
The Awards ceremony was hosted by Moray McLaren, Board Member, Iberian Legal Group, Mari Cruz Taboada, Managing Director of the Iberian Legal Group and Joanna Lee, Editor of Iberian Lawyer.

Legal Summit As in previous years, the Awards Ceremony was preceeded by the Iberian Legal Summit. This is an interactive debate enabling General Counsel from Iberian and international businesses to discuss their current challenges together with Managing Partners from law firms across Barcelona, Lisbon, Madrid as well as Europe, the US and Latin America.
The legal Summit was moderated by Olga García-González, Head of Legal Credit SGBM, Banco Santander and Moray McLaren, Senior Consultant, KermaPartners Iberia.
Awards Selection Process The winners were chosen by a highly qualified Jury, recognising the achievement of the top 40 lawyers under 40 years of age working within the Iberian legal market. Over 250 applications were received from candidates from law firms, companies and public institutions in over 10 countries worldwide.
This year, the Jury was diverse, very experienced and with a strong international outlook. It included General Counsel from prestigious companies such as ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, AndBank, Banco Santander, Goldman Sachs, HP (Brazil), PepsiCo, Pernod Ricard and The Royal Bank of Scotland, among others.
