Enactment of Law 25,094 — Free and Expedited Registration of Corporate Email
Law 25,094 introduces two fundamental changes to company registration:
- Firstly, it removes the requirement for a notarial deed or the formalisation of minutes as the sole mechanism for incorporating the email address associated with a commercial company. This means that companies will no longer be obliged to visit a notary public solely to register or update their email address with the National Register.
- Secondly, the National Register is required to implement an electronic, automated and self-service system within six months of the law coming into force, in order to enable commercial companies to register their email address free of charge and in a timely manner.
It is important to note that, although the deadlines for compliance by companies are not entirely clear due to a contradiction identified in the text of the law itself, it is understood that the deadline for completing this procedure is, at the very least, 31 December 2026.
To date, it is not clear exactly what mechanism will be put in place to register the company’s email address. However, it is anticipated that the company’s legal representative will be able to carry out this procedure using a certified electronic signature. We will keep you informed of any developments in this regard in due course.
For the time being, the National Registry continues to maintain the existing channels for the inclusion of corporate email addresses, namely: (i) a request by the legal representative for the inclusion of an email address via a notarial deed, and (ii) the registration of a resolution to make the relevant changes.
