As a leading firm in the digital economy, we know first-hand the transformative power of artificial intelligence.
That is why we have become the first law firm in Spain to certify our IA management system according to the international standard ISO/IEC 42001:2023, under an international accreditation scheme. But certification is only the foundation. The principles that follow are those that govern how we integrate and use AI, today and tomorrow, in the service of our clients, our professionals and society.

We use artificial intelligence when it contributes to raising the quality of legal advice, speeding up response times and allowing our professionals to devote their talents to what brings the most value. Every AI solution we integrate undergoes a rigorous process of evaluation, validation and human oversight before being incorporated into client service.

Artificial intelligence is a tool at the service of lawyers and clients. All relevant legal decisions are under the supervision and responsibility of an ECIJA professional. We maintain continuous controls over every process in which AI has been implemented, with a risk-based approach aimed at minimising the impact of any error or bias as much as possible.
Fairness, transparency and respect for fundamental rights in every deployment.
We apply artificial intelligence under principles of fairness, non-discrimination, transparency and respect for people's fundamental rights. We actively assess the risks of bias, error and exclusion in every AI system we use, and work continuously to minimise them. No solution is incorporated into our operations unless it passes this filter.

The information entrusted to us by our customers is our top priority. All AI systems we use undergo rigorous data protection, information security and confidentiality assessments. We hold our technology providers to the same standards we hold ourselves to, and we comply with applicable regulations in all jurisdictions in which we operate.

Our commitment to responsible AI is backed by an audited management system. ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, issued by SGS and internationally accredited by ANAB, ensures that our governance framework covers the full lifecycle of AI tools within the certified scope, with annual follow-up audits and an ongoing process of continuous improvement.
