New law boosts links between education and the productive sector

ECIJA Ecuador presents an analysis of the Economic Reactivation Law that promotes dual training and the connection between academia and the productive sector in Ecuador.

The ECIJA Ecuador team presents a new briefing note on the Organic Law for Economic Reactivation through the Strengthening of the Link between the Economic and Productive Sector and Education, a regulation that seeks to promote employability, dual training and effective articulation between the education system and the business sector in Ecuador.

This initiative responds to the need to strengthen the skills of human talent and align academic training with the real demands of the labour market, promoting a model of collaboration between educational institutions, companies and productive actors.

Among its main provisions, the law introduces mechanisms for the standardisation of apprenticeships, incentives for private sector participation, the creation of productive clusters and new obligations for both educational institutions and companies. These measures have a direct impact on training, youth employment and the country's competitiveness.

The regulation also proposes a comprehensive approach that seeks to improve the quality of education and facilitate students' transition to the labour market by fostering practical learning environments and training experiences in real work contexts.

This new legal framework represents an opportunity for organisations to review their engagement strategies with the education sector and adapt their training, compliance and talent development processes to the new provisions.
