The quantum revolution and the importance of being on time

Ministerial meetings of international organisations rarely capture the public’s attention. However, it is often behind the scenes at these meetings that the trends setting the course for the global economy over the coming years are determined.

Costa Rica would do well to take note. Major technological transformations rarely give a clear indication of the exact moment when they cease to be a promise and become an economic reality. When that happens, those who have prepared in advance tend to find themselves in a privileged position. The rest discover that the opportunity has already passed them by.


“The quantum revolution is still in its infancy. That is precisely why now is the right time for Costa Rica to decide how it wants to participate in it. Because when it comes to innovation and competitiveness, getting in early is usually an advantage. Arriving late almost never is,” explains Elías Soley in his column for El Financiero Costa Rica.
