Tax incentive boosts the development of the audiovisual industry
In a recent interview broadcast on Ecuavisa's Televistazo, Paola Robalino Rosero, partner at ECIJA GPA, shared a detailed analysis of the tax incentive that allows companies to deduct up to an additional 150% in income tax for the sponsorship of qualified cultural and audiovisual projects.
This benefit, in force in Ecuador, has become a strategic tool to strengthen the orange economy, encouraging collaboration between the private sector and the creative industry. Robalino explained how the investment certificate is positioned as a key mechanism to generate shared value between sponsoring companies and content creators.
During the interview, he also highlighted the importance of knowing the requirements and processes to correctly apply for this incentive, as well as the need to align this support with business strategies of social responsibility, sustainability and brand positioning.
"Culture and entertainment not only generate symbolic value; they are also drivers of economic development and social cohesion. This incentive allows companies to actively contribute to the country, while optimising their tax burden," he said.
From ECIJA Ecuador, the Media & Entertainment team, led by Paola Robalino Rosero and Alejandra Pinto, advises companies on the identification of opportunities, the process of obtaining the investment certificate, and regulatory compliance to maximize the use of this benefit.
