IFLR has recognised ECIJA as the law firm with the best digital transformation in Europe
ECIJA has been recognised by IFLR as the European firm with the best digital transformation at the IFLR Europe Awards 2026, held yesterday at The Londoner Hotel in London, an award that places it at the forefront of legal innovation in Europe.
ECIJA surpassed a finalist list that included major international firms such as Addleshaw Goddard, Ashurst, and Schoenherr, highlighting the European reach of the recognition. The award was received by Magdalena Bertram, partner in Banking and Finance and Commercial Law/Mergers and Acquisitions, and Rafael Piqueras, partner in EU Competition, on behalf of the firm.
The jury recognised the Full AI Firm strategy, launched at the end of 2024 with a unique goal in the legal market: to evolve towards a completely integrated law firm model with artificial intelligence. Beyond the adoption of tools, the strategy has involved a transversal transformation in the provision of legal services, internal processes, product development, and value generation for the client.
As part of this strategy, ECIJA recently became the first law firm in Spain to certify its artificial intelligence management system according to the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 standard under an international accreditation scheme. The certification, issued by SGS and accredited by ANAB, places the firm at the forefront of the sector in terms of governance, oversight, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
