The programme, which premieres on 17 November, will feature the participation of ECIJA partner Elena Ordúñez, along with filmmaker Fernando Colomo, producer Mariela Besuievsky, and screenwriter Alejandro Hernández.

In its quest to bring the film industry closer to the public and help them understand its inner workings, EGEDA promotes the creation of Conexió Platí, a videopodcast presented by Laura Ramos that will delve into the experiences of those in front of and behind the cameras to explain how the final puzzle of a film is formed. With the motto “Cinema lives within you,” this new space will feature directors, actors, producers, distributors, legal advisors, communication agencies, and exhibitors, among others, in its different episodes.

With a total of 7 episodes, Conexió Platí will be available starting 17 November —biweekly— in video form from the OTT SmartPlatí, and in audio form from platforms like Spotify.

In its first episode, recorded in the space La Cristalleria, provided by Ephimera through Madrid Film Office, and titled “Idea and Development of a Feature Film,” filmmaker Fernando Colomo, who recently released Les delícies del jardí, will be joined by producer and partner of Tornasol Media; Mariela Besuievsky, responsible for titles such as El secret dels seus ulls —award-winning with the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2010—; Alejandro Hernández, screenwriter awarded in 2014 with the Goya for Best Adapted Screenplay for Totes les dones, and lawyer and partner in Intellectual Property and Audiovisual Law at the ECIJA law firm, Elena Ordúñez.

Starting from the premise that cinema is a powerful medium for telling stories and that the script acts as a map to guide the work of directors, actors, and technical teams, this first meeting will address questions such as how to turn a simple idea into a script; the differences between original scripts and commissioned works, and the presence of these works in labs, competitions, and festivals. Additionally, each guest will delve into the relationship between screenwriters and producers in adapting content for the big screen.

In this way, Conexió Platí will explore crucial and current themes in the film industry, such as financing works, pre-production, production, post-production, and film sales from the perspective of marketing and distribution, or the presentation of films at festivals and awards.

Through EGEDA’s and the PLATÍ Awards' social media, the community of film enthusiasts will be able to follow the content of this new space, which aims to mark a turning point in the conception of Ibero-American seventh art.
