The firm drives its international growth and consolidates key areas such as complex litigation, taxation, international mobility, and sustainability with new strategic additions.

ECIJA continues to drive its international growth with the addition of four new partners at its offices in Spain, Portugal and Costa Rica, in line with its strategy to consolidate key areas for businesses and groups with national and international operations.

In Spain, the firm is significantly strengthening its practice of complex litigation with the addition of Miguel Ezcurdia as a partner in the Pamplona office. With over twenty years of experience, Ezcurdia is a leading professional in criminal, economic, and commercial law, with a distinguished track record in highly complex proceedings related to economic crimes, fraud, tax offenses, corporate criminal liability, and corporate compliance. His arrival enhances ECIJA’s procedural capacity in matters that are particularly sensitive and of high impact for organizations.

In Portugal, ECIJA reinforces its presence with two strategic actions. On one hand, the addition of Isabel Santos Fidalgo as a partner in the Porto office, one of the most recognized lawyers in the country in corporate and international taxation. With more than 25 years of experience, her practice focuses on complex tax litigation, tax arbitration, taxation of the energy and natural resources sector, corporate restructurings, and tax governance of large business groups.

On the other hand, in Lisbon, the firm consolidates its commitment to international mobility with the promotion of Bruna Casagrande to partner, specializing in immigration and citizenship. Casagrande coordinates the Immigration and Citizenship Area, a key practice for companies with talent relocation needs, international mobility of executives, and structuring immigration in corporate and investment contexts.

Finally, in Costa Rica, ECIJA has added Marco Quesada as a partner in the San José office, where he will lead the development of the Environmental Law and Sustainability area. Coming from EY, Quesada has a solid background in environmental regulatory compliance, ESG, and corporate sustainability, strengthening a line of services that is increasingly integrated into mergers and acquisitions, financing, and investment, particularly in Latin America.

With these additions, ECIJA reinforces its position as a leading firm in cross-cutting and high-value legal advice, focusing on strategic areas that respond to the main market demands and accompany its clients in increasingly complex regulatory and economic environments.
