With a strong track record in complex litigation and international arbitration, the arrival of Fabio Virzi strengthens one of the firm’s most established practices, recognized by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.

ECIJA begins the new 2025-2026 term in the same way it ended the previous one, incorporating new partners and strengthening its teams at its Madrid office. On this occasion, it is Fabio Virzi, a professional with nearly 20 years of experience advising national and international clients in contractual and non-contractual disputes, as well as cases of unfair competition, corporate disputes, liability of directors, and controversies between partners and shareholders. His experience in financial litigation, as well as in disputes related to the construction and insurance sectors, and in controversy related to M&A and private equity transactions stands out.

Virzi has also developed a solid practice in arbitration, representing large national and international groups in proceedings before institutions such as the ICC, the Arbitration Court of Madrid, or the TAB, and has also been appointed as an arbitrator in disputes related to business law.

The new partner at ECIJA has combined his professional work with teaching at IE Law School, where he has taught dispute resolution subjects in the Master of Transnational Business Law and the Master in Business Legal Advice.

A law graduate and Master's holder from ESADE (Ramon Llull University), he holds an Executive Master's in Business Law from the Garrigues Study Centre. He is a member of the Illustrious Bar Association of Barcelona, the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club (CEiA), and is part of the Steering Committee of the Italian Chapter of CEiA, as well as being a member of the Spanish Business Litigation Club

Alejandro Touriño, managing partner of ECIJA, has stated:

“The arrival of Fabio is excellent news for the firm. His deep knowledge of the world of litigation and arbitration, combined with his international profile and multidisciplinary approach, decisively strengthens our ability to offer strategic solutions in an increasingly complex and globalized environment.”

For his part, Fabio Virzi has declared:

“It is an honor to join ECIJA, a reference firm in Spain with a unique international projection, especially in Latin America. This global dimension, combined with the innovative character of the firm, makes this project an exceptional opportunity. I join with the enthusiasm to contribute my experience in litigation and arbitration to continue driving the growth of the area along with the extraordinary team of professionals at ECIJA.”

With this incorporation, ECIJA reaches 230 partners and more than 1,500 professionals in 18 countries, consolidating its position as one of the law firms with the greatest international projection and reinforcing its leadership in digital economy and legal transformation of the sector.
