ECIJA launches its practice in Environmental Law and Sustainability in Costa Rica
ECIJA has announced the appointment of Marco Quesada as the director of its Environmental Law practice, as well as the formal launch of its environmental and sustainability practice for Central America, strengthening its regional position in legal advisory related to environmental regulatory compliance, ESG, and sustainable transition.
"The appointment of Marco responds to a clear strategic vision: to support our clients in the regulatory, environmental, and climate challenges that directly affect their business decisions today. Environmental law and sustainability are no longer secondary areas. They are central to business management, access to financing, and corporate reputation," said Mauricio París, managing partner of Ecija Costa Rica.
On his part, Marco Quesada highlighted the focus of the new practice: «I join Ecija with the aim of building a modern and rigorous environmental practice that aligns with the international standards demanded today by investors, regulators, and markets,» he said. He added that "Costa Rica and the region are facing a deep transformation in environmental and climatic matters, and the role of the lawyer is to become a strategic partner that helps organizations anticipate risks and create value from sustainability."
