This integration decisively strengthens ECIJA's capabilities and positions it as one of the main firms in Aragon.

ECIJA, present in Zaragoza since 2018, has announced the integration of CORP Abogados y Economistas, one of the benchmark firms in legal and economic advisory services in the region. With this transaction, ECIJA strategically reinforces its presence in Aragón and becomes one of the largest firms in the region, consolidating a team of 7 new partners (Alberto Sanjuán, Ricardo Chueca, María Ballester, Diego Baldovín, Héctor Verde, Carlos Camo and Ander Astobiza), more than 50 professionals, and a turnover close to 5 million euros.

ECIJA began its journey in Zaragoza 7 years ago under the direction of Cristina Llop who, after a brilliant role at the helm of the office for these years, now hands over the firm's leadership to Alberto Sanjuan. The new managing partner of ECIJA Zaragoza has an extensive background in procedural, commercial, and bankruptcy law. Sanjuan was managing partner of Corp Advocats and Economistes and previously worked at Garrigues and Landwell-PwC. He holds a Law degree from the University of Zaragoza and a Master's in Legal Advice for Companies from IE Law School.

With this integration, ECIJA’s office in Zaragoza decisively strengthens its capabilities in commercial, tax, and labor law, procedural, bankruptcy, and financial law, incorporating the experience, talent, and client portfolio of a firm with a solid track record in the Aragonese market.

Since its opening in 2018, the Zaragoza office has been a pillar in ECIJA's national expansion plan. The arrival of the team from CORP Advocats and Economistes boosts this trajectory, consolidating ECIJA as a reference player in Aragon. In this regard, the entirety of the existing team remains with the firm, including the figures of Cristina Llop and Mayte Royo, along with their teams.

In the words of Alberto Sanjuan: “We are very excited to join a project like ECIJA, which combines innovation, international presence, and a clear vision for the future. This integration allows us to offer our clients a more comprehensive service with a greater reach, without losing the closeness that has always characterized us.”

For his part, Alejandro Touriño, managing partner of ECIJA, noted: “The incorporation of CORP Advocats and Economistes decisively strengthens our position in Aragon and makes us the second largest firm in the region. This move reflects our strategy of bringing together talent and consolidated structures to provide our clients with comprehensive and distinctive advice in all areas of business law.”

The integration is part of ECIJA's ambitious expansion plan, which in 2024 surpassed 100 million euros in global revenue and maintains its leadership in the legal field, both in Spain and Latin America. So far this year, ECIJA has integrated CLCripto, a leading consulting firm in legal and tax advice in crypto-assets; has strengthened its presence in Colombia with the incorporation of the boutique Vanegas Morales and profiles like Daniel Acevedo; and has added Cruz Vilaça Advogados in Portugal, specialized in Public and European Union Law.
