ECIJA Ecuador analyses AI regulation in Latin America
In the 18th edition of The Legal Industry Reviews, a reference publication in the international legal sector, ECIJA GPA's LegalTech team - comprising Felipe González and Sebastián Vallejo Constantine -provides an expert view on the regulatory progress of artificial intelligence in Latin America.
Their article, entitled "The regulatory geography of AI: three approaches and the Ecuadorian case", compares the three most relevant regulatory models being adopted around the world: the restrictive European-style approach, the flexible US model and the hybrid approach adopted in some emerging economies.
Through clear and accessible analysis, the authors explain how each model responds to the ethical, technical and social challenges posed by the growing use of artificial intelligence, and examine how Ecuador has begun to build its own regulatory framework in this area.
This contribution reinforces ECIJA GPA's commitment to legal innovation and analysis of the issues that will shape the future of law in the region.
