ECIJA has authored the chapter on Spain in the international guide Cryptoassets: Law Over Borders Comparative Guide 2026

ECIJA, represented by Héctor Sbert, Jesús Lorente Ariza and Xavier Miraball, has contributed the chapter on Spain to *Cryptoassets: Law Over Borders Comparative Guide 2026*, an international publication released by Global City Media as part of The Global Legal Post’s *Law Over Borders* comparative series.

The guide offers a practical and comparative overview of the legal treatment of cryptoassets in different jurisdictions, against a backdrop marked by the consolidation of regulatory frameworks, the development of MiCA in the European Union and the growing interplay between digital assets, financial services, taxation and anti-money laundering.

The Spanish chapter, prepared by the ECIJA/ECIJA Crypto team, analyses the evolution of the legal regime applicable in Spain, from the previous fragmented approach, focused mainly on anti-money laundering, the advertising of crypto-assets and tax obligations, to the entry into force of the MiCA Regulation, which introduces a harmonised European framework for issuers and service providers of crypto-assets.

With this contribution, ECIJA reinforces its position in the field of crypto-assets, providing a specialist perspective on the Spanish market in an international reference work aimed, amongst others, at financial operators, investors and regulated entities.
