ECIJA Costa Rica consolidates its leading position in Chambers Latam 2027

This recognition, one of the most prestigious and rigorous in the regional legal market, distinguishes the firm in four key practice areas: Technology, Media & Telecommunications (Band 1), Real Estate (Band 2), Dispute Resolution (Band 3) and Corporate M&A (Band 3), thereby consolidating a strong, cross-cutting presence in the Costa Rican market.

The most notable achievement this year is, without doubt, being ranked in Band 1 for Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT), the highest category awarded by Chambers, confirming ECIJA as the undisputed leader in this practice area in Costa Rica. The market recognises the firm’s ability to advise local and international clients on cybersecurity, data protection and artificial intelligence, within an increasingly complex and changing regulatory environment. At the helm of this practice, Mauricio París (Band 1) is recognised by the market as a prominent figure in the Costa Rican technology sector and a key player in the development of artificial intelligence legislation in the country, whilst Erick Jiménez González ( Band 2) continues to consolidate his presence with solid technical expertise.

This recognition is not limited to a single practice: the Real Estate team, led by Guillermo E. Zúñiga (Band 2), was once again highlighted for its support of property developers and clients in the tourism sector, whilst Dispute Resolution retains its Band 3 ranking, with Mauricio París also recognised individually as a Most In Demand Arbitrator (Band 1), and Aracelly López entering the ranking as an Associate to Watch. Meanwhile, Corporate M&A, led by Zúñiga (Band 4), reinforces ECIJA’s position as a multidisciplinary firm capable of advising on complex transactions in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, energy and retail.
