ECIJA Chile welcomes ECIJA Guatemala, together with the team from Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala, as part of the 19th International Arbitration Competition

As part of the 19th International Arbitration Competition (CIAC), we were delighted to welcome Romar Miguelangel Tahay, Director of the ECIJA Guatemala office in Quetzaltenango, to our ECIJA Chile offices. He was accompanying, in a coaching capacity, the team representing Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala, which is taking part in this year’s competition.

The visit was hosted by our Managing Partner, Alfredo Moreno, together with the Dispute Resolution team at ECIJA Chile, led by our partner Rodrigo Nelson, providing an opportunity for the group to meet and exchange experiences regarding arbitration and legal practice.

The 19th edition of the CIAC is taking place from 20 to 24 August at the Faculty of Law of the University of Chile and brings together 60 university teams from 10 Latin American countries and France. The competition is one of the region’s longest-standing and most prestigious academic events on international commercial arbitration conducted in Spanish.

At ECIJA Chile, we particularly value such events, which enable us to strengthen ties between our offices whilst also supporting the next generation of professionals through training, learning and professional development in the field of international arbitration.
