ECIJA Chile in the media: Alfredo Moreno addresses the challenges of the new Data Protection Law
Our Managing Partner of ECIJA Chile, Alfredo Moreno, recently participated with a letter published in El Líbero and Diario Constitucional, where he addressed the imminent entry into force of Law No. 21.719, which amends Law No. 19.628 on personal data protection in Chile. Both media disseminated their analysis on the impact that this regulation will have on organisations and the urgency of anticipating its implementation.
In his commentary, Alfredo warns that the new regulation in Chile, which will come into force on 1 December 2026, represents a structural change in the way companies will have to deal with the processing of personal data. It also emphasises that the process of adaptation is not immediate, as it requires reviewing processes, documentation, organisational culture and technological capabilities to comply with the new standards.
This media appearance reinforces ECIJA Chile's commitment to the public and legal discussion on one of the most relevant regulatory changes of recent times, providing a practical view on the challenges faced by companies in this new regulatory scenario.
