ECIJA adopts the first Sustainable Mobility Plan for the legal sector in Spain
ECIJA has approved its Corporate Sustainable Mobility Plan, becoming the first law firm in Spain to adopt a comprehensive tool for the planning and management of mobility, in line with the new regulatory requirements regarding sustainability, the green transition, and corporate responsibility.
The approval of the Plan represents a milestone for the legal sector and reflects ECIJA's commitment to practicing law in a more responsible and innovative manner, while staying connected to the main social and environmental challenges. The initiative is part of the firm's goal to anticipate the future, promote more sustainable organizational models, and have a positive impact on its environment.
The Plan has been approved following a negotiation and dialogue process with the employees' representatives, with the participation of the UGT and CCOO unions, and represents a pioneering initiative both in terms of scope and content.
Mobility is one of the main environmental challenges facing professional service organizations, especially in an environment characterized by daily commuting, business travel, international mobility, and the need to provide in-person services to clients, public bodies, and courts.
Aware of this reality, ECIJA has decided to anticipate future regulatory requirements by implementing a comprehensive mobility management model that incorporates specific measures in areas such as optimizing business travel, international mobility, effective integration of remote work, road safety, training and awareness of personnel, as well as promoting sustainable practices among clients, suppliers, and visitors.

The initiative is part of ECIJA's overall sustainability strategy and complements other measures already implemented by the company, particularly the certification of its Environmental Management System according to the ISO 14001 standard, the calculation and registration of its carbon footprint, and the development of corporate policies aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its operations.
During the approval process, the participating unions highlighted the innovative nature of the project and its potential to become a benchmark for other companies in the services sector.
