ECIJA and Tomarial on Oceanogràfic of Valencia’s new collective agreement

News10 March 2026
A new four-year agreement modernises the labour framework of the Oceanogràfic of Valencia, aligning professional categories with the organisation’s current operational and organisational needs.

After more than a year of negotiations, the Oceanogràfic of Valencia has signed a new collective bargaining agreement, a deal that entails a profound restructuring of professional categories and their alignment with the company’s current operational and organisational reality.

ECIJA led the legal and employment advice throughout the entire negotiation process, supporting the company in a complex bargaining table marked by the need to adapt the labour framework to new business challenges, while at the same time ensuring legal certainty and organisational sustainability. During the process, ECIJA worked alongside Tomarial’s advisers.

The new collective agreement — pending official publication — will be in force for four years from 2025 and has been welcomed by the negotiating unions and the workforce as a decisive step towards the modernisation of labour relations within the organisation, states ECIJA.

The ECIJA team was led by partner Fernando Vizcaíno de Sas (pictured), with the participation of Carlos Carril Rodríguez, principal at the firm, and Ana Plou Rodríguez, associate in the employment law practice.
