Mauricio París explains a new threat: the impersonation of company executives’ voices using AI to commit fraud and scams. He also examines the responsibilities of employees.
"As far as protocol is concerned, companies that survive these attacks have one thing in common: they implement secondary verification systems for transactions exceeding certain amounts. A simple rule, such as ensuring that no transfer is authorised by telephone alone – but is always confirmed via an alternative channel and by a second authoriser – can thwart 90 per cent of these attempts,” explains Mauricio París in his column for El Financiero.
