Under the leadership of Carlos del Razo, president of the Mexican Academy of Environmental Impact (AMIA) and partner of the Sustainability and Environment area of ECIJA Mexico, the National Congress on Environmental Impact was held for the fifth time on 22, 23 and 24 October at the facilities of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

UNAM Rector Leonardo Lomelí Vanegas, who shared the podium with Carlos del Razo to open an event that brought together experts, academics and representatives from the public and private sectors. Over the course of three days, nine roundtables were held on key issues such as water, energy, circular economy, climate governance, socio-environmental rights and sustainable finance.

During the closing session, Carlos del Razo delivered a strong message on the evolution of the environmental approach in Mexico, on the transition to water with minimum vitality and measurable restoration; energy with immediate efficiency and scalable clean portfolio; circular economy with extended responsibility and end-to-end traceability; access and consultation rights as an enforceable social licence. He stressed that the country's competitive advantage no longer lies in discourse, but in auditability: "Whoever executes with evidence wins; whoever delays, loses market".

The Congress marked a milestone in the consolidation of sustainability as a transversal axis of Mexican public policies, reaffirming ECIJA and AMIA's commitment to climate action, transparency and environmental governance.
