Ruth Sánchez Lorenzo joined ECIJA almost four years ago as Litigation Manager in our Madrid office, and since then she has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and talent. A law graduate, her professional career has been forged in the courts: she has led complex litigation, negotiated high-value settlements and advised clients in sectors as diverse as energy, telecommunications and banking. Her rigorous approach and excellent command of legal argumentation have made her a point of reference for colleagues and clients alike.
For her, ECIJA is not just a law firm, but an environment where the diversity of profiles -both cultural and generational- enriches each case and strengthens teamwork. Under her leadership, the Litigation department has promoted internal mentoring initiatives, fostering collaboration between junior and senior professionals and ensuring that knowledge is passed on smoothly. She herself states that "at ECIJA, perseverance and collaboration make projects that at first seemed unachievable a reality".
On a personal level, Ruth underlines the fundamental role that her family and friends play in her day-to-day life. Recently a new mother, she highlights how this new stage has reaffirmed the importance of mutual care and empathy: values that, she says, "translate directly into the way I practice law, because understanding the needs of each client or partner requires the same affection and attention that you give to a loved one".
Commitment, companionship, empathy and respect are the qualities that best describe her way of working. Her ability to combine a human approach with the technical demands of litigation makes her a key member of our litigation team. By her example, she inspires everyone at ECIJA to maintain excellence and to never lose sight of the fact that, beyond the law, it is people who really give meaning to our work.
