Sönke Lund discusses the legal challenges of state-of-the-art AI applied to cybersecurity at the International Bar Association

Our partner Sönke Lund, Chair of the Artificial Intelligence Working Group of the International Bar Association's (IBA) Section on Public and Professional Interest (SPPI), is featured in an article published by the IBA examining the impact of next-generation AI models on cybersecurity.


Frontier AI is reshaping corporate cybersecurity. Models such as Claude Mythos are already identifying vulnerabilities that had gone undetected for decades, while also introducing new risks, including source code leakage, exposure of personal data and prompt injection attacks.


In the interview, Sönke Lund explains how these emerging technologies are transforming vulnerability detection and cyber defence, while also raising significant legal challenges relating to data protection, confidentiality, governance and regulatory compliance.
