Nicolas is a lawyer specialized in corporate and real estate law.

Nicolaas has over 23 years of experience advising on highly complex national and international transactions.

Throughout his career, he has led M&A and project financing deals across diverse sectors, among which the following stand out: the sale of Grandes Superficies de Colombia S.A. (Carrefour) to the Chilean group CENCOSUD, the acquisition of Mercadefam by Carrefour Colombia, the acquisition of Informix Software by IBM, and the sale of IBM’s PCD and Printers units to Lenovo and Ricoh.

He also has extensive experience in advising on large-scale real estate projects and in the development of urban planning instruments that have enabled the construction of nearly 50,000 housing units across the country. His work includes the leadership and participation in the formulation of more than 10 partial plans, notably: the Ciudad La Salle Partial Plan, Alameda de la Concordia Partial Plan, Dispapeles Partial Plan, Avenida Colón Partial Plan, Cartón Colombia Partial Plan, among many others.

Before founding his own firm, he served as Country Counsel at IBM Colombia and as National Legal Director at Carrefour Colombia. He was co-founder and head of the Corporate and Real Estate practice at Laserna & Barón Abogados S.A.S., where he advised national and international companies on their strategic operations.

Between 2014 and 2015, he was a university professor of Contract Law in the specialization program on Urban and Real Estate Law at Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá.
