Mario Umaña

Lawyer specialised in family and labor litigation, mediation, and public procurement.

Mario has more than 20 years of experience practicing law. Specializing in family, child, and adolescent litigation, as well as labor law, he is known for his conciliatory approach and his ability to promote solutions through dialogue and alternative dispute resolution. He is a certified private mediator and has served as a university professor. 

He also has 15 years of experience in public procurement, advising national and international companies on participation strategies, regulatory compliance, and public procurement procedures management. 

He served for more than a decade as Director of Institutional Procurement at the Ministry of Public Security, a position in which he acquired extensive knowledge of the macro-process of public procurement and the functioning of the bodies responsible for managing public procurement in the public sector. 

He has been a consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on projects aimed at strengthening public procurement systems, contributing his legal, technical, and operational experience to improve processes and implement best practices.
