Enrique Fuentes

He has more than two decades of experience as a corporate lawyer, combining legal practice in national and international firms with legal and strategic advice to companies in key sectors such as banking, telecommunications, engineering, construction, real estate and technology. He has worked on complex transnational transactions, mergers and acquisitions, international contracting and corporate governance processes.

He has been managing partner of Abacanto Abogados y Consultores, advising local and foreign companies on legal structuring, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, labour law and dispute resolution. Previously, he developed his career in law firms such as Holland & Knight LLP (Miami) and corporations such as Entel PCS Telecomunicaciones and Banco de A. Edwards, where he played strategic roles in negotiation, contracting and regulatory advice.

His practice has included representation of financial entities, participation in privatisation processes and leadership in board and legal committee sessions. In addition, he has served as a director of Schwager S.A., a listed company, and has advised at the highest level on contractual and corporate matters.

He complements his professional experience with continuous training in areas such as negotiation, energy, electronic signature and consumer protection, as well as having participated in development programmes at institutions such as the University of Chile, Universidad Mayor and Fundación Chile.
