Bayardo Rafael Poveda Camacho is a Partner at ECIJA GPA and has over 25 years of experience advising multinational corporations, investors and public entities in highly regulated sectors. His practice focuses on energy and natural resources (oil and gas, upstream and downstream), project finance, M&A, dispute resolution and competition law, combining sophisticated legal analysis with a strong commercial and regulatory perspective. He has been involved in cross-border structuring, regulatory strategy and high-value negotiations across Latin America and Europe. Representative matters include the negotiation, contracting, execution and delivery of the Cuenca Tram System; the structuring and negotiation of the Shaya Project between SLB and the Ecuadorian State; and obtaining ex ante antitrust clearance for the acquisition of the Interagua project (Veolia–Contratas). His track record also includes institutional leadership and academic involvement, and he has been recognised by leading international legal directories in energy, disputes and corporate matters.
