Ana Lickkfold de Novaes e Silva focuses her practice on civil and commercial litigation and has more than 25 years of experience representing national and international companies in high-profile disputes before the Portuguese courts and arbitration centres, including the International Chamber of Commerce. She has advised and represented several multinational companies from different sectors and industries in these proceedings.
She has developed expertise in product liability and distribution agreements, frequently representing clients in disputes involving defective products and breaches of distribution contracts.
After completing her traineeship in 1999, Ana joined the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group of Vieira de Almeida & Associados in 2004, where she remained for more than two decades, until June 2025.
She has contributed to several national and international publications and was co-author of the extensive commentary on the Portuguese Voluntary Arbitration Law (Lei da Arbitragem Voluntária, Almedina, 2014). She also co-authored the Portugal chapter of The Product Regulation and Liability Review (The Law Reviews, 2016–2018) and the Antitrust Litigation Practice Guide (Chambers Global Practice Guides, 2019), as well as the Insurance and Reinsurance Guide (Chambers Global Practice Guides, 2020). More recently, she co-authored an article in the book A Prática do Contencioso: Reflexões e Tendências de Direito Substantivo e Processual, published in 2024 by Almedina.
She participated as a guest speaker in the “1st Advanced Course on Occupational Accident Insurance”, organised by AIDA Portugal (Portuguese section of the International Association of Insurance Law), co-presenting the module on “Accidents and their implications. Insurer’s delay”, and in the Interdisciplinary Legal Practice Module (Drafting of Procedural Documents) of the Law degree programme at the Faculty of Law of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, between 2018 and 2023.
She has been with Antas da Cunha Ecija since 2025.
