Isabel Santos Fidalgo analyses the transformation of taxation

News27 April 2026

Isabel Santos Fidalgo, a partner in Antas da Cunha Ecija's Tax Law Department, gave an interview to Vida Económica in which she analyses the structural transformation of taxation and the challenges facing companies in an increasingly technological context.

In a scenario marked by the growing use of artificial intelligence by the tax authorities, he emphasises the transition to a model of continuous supervision, based on data and predictive intelligence, which requires companies to take a more strategic, preventive and integrated approach to tax compliance.

Throughout the interview, he also highlights the impact of Pillar II, the increasing complexity of tax litigation and the need for a paradigm shift: taxation is no longer a reactive function but a central role in the strategic construction of organisations.
