Isabel Araújo Costa

Isabel Araújo Costa focuses her practice primarily on Labour Law, with particular expertise in areas such as Public Employment and Social Security Law. Throughout her professional career, Isabel Araújo Costa has advised companies and public entities, with a particular focus on labour litigation, restructuring processes, and class actions. Isabel Araújo Costa’s practice is also distinguished by its innovative approach to the intersection between Labour Law and new technologies, with a particular emphasis on the theoretical application of blockchain technology.

Isabel Araújo Costa began her professional career with a summer internship at Mendes Ferreira & Associados, in Porto, and subsequently completed her Portuguese Bar traineeship at Vieira Advogados, in Braga, where she was promoted to Associate and, in 2019, to Partner. At Vieira Advogados, Isabel Araújo Costa led several significant matters and was also responsible for developing the firm’s international relations on the west coast of the United States.

Isabel Araújo Costa has been an active voice in the public debate on Labour Law, frequently participating in the media and contributing legal analysis on labour matters with significant public impact. Isabel Araújo Costa is the author of several scientific articles, including: “Practice Guides - Trends & Developments Portugal – Employment 2022” (Chambers and Partners), “The Advent of Industry 4.0, a Pandemic Crisis and Endless Amendments to Labour Law” (Revista Vida Judiciária), and “NEW LABOUR RELATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY” (European Congress of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law).

Additionally, Isabel Araújo Costa has collaborated with several training platforms and projects, acting as a regular trainer in masterclasses and workshops organised by Factorial on topics such as the Single Report, the Labour Code, holidays and absences, and labour compliance.

Isabel Araújo Costa has been with Antas da Cunha Ecija since 2020.
