Senior associate

Isabel Araújo Costa is a Senior Associate in the Labour and Social Security Department.

He is predominantly active in the areas of labour law, specialising in sub-areas such as public employment and social security. Throughout his professional career, he has provided legal advice to companies and public bodies, with a particular focus on labour litigation, restructuring processes and class actions. His practice also stands out for an innovative approach that articulates labour law with new technologies, with an emphasis on the theoretical application of blockchain technology.

She started her professional career with a summer internship at Mendes Ferreira & Associados, in Porto, and subsequently completed the Bar Internship at Vieira Advogados, in Braga, where she was promoted to Associate and, in 2019, to Partner. At Vieira Advogados she led several relevant processes, also assuming responsibility for the development of the firm's international relations on the West Coast of the United States.

She has been an active voice in the public debate on labour law, frequently participating in the media and contributing with legal analysis on labour issues of high media impact. She is the author of several scientific articles, including: "Practice Guides - Trends & Developments Portugal - Employment 2022" (Chambers and Partners), "The advent of Industry 4.0, a pandemic crisis and a host of changes in labour law" (Revista Vida Judiciária), and "THE NEW LABOUR RELATIONSHIPS AND TECHNOLOGY" (European Congress of the International Society of Labour and Social Security Law).

In addition, she collaborates with several training platforms and projects, being a regular trainer in masterclasses and workshops organised by FACTORIAL, on topics such as the Single Report, Labour Code, holidays and absences, and labour compliance.
She has been part of Antas da Cunha Ecija since 2020.
