Reform of the General Regulations to the Mining Law: key to Decree 273

The Executive issued Executive Decree No. 273, which amends the General Regulations to the Mining Law. The regulation modifies the calculation of royalties and strengthens state control over mining activity.

Executive Decree No. 273, issued by the Executive, reforms the General Regulations to the Mining Law and introduces substantial changes for the sector. Among the most relevant adjustments is the modification of the calculation of the taxable base for royalties (article 82) and the incorporation of the concept of sovereign adjustment.


In addition, the reform establishes new formulas, thresholds and obligations for key actors such as ARCOM, the SRI, mining concessionaires and local governments, particularly in relation to the distribution of revenuesfrom mining activities.
