Artificial intelligence in streamlining building permits
REVI, the artificial intelligence tool developed by the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC), in conjunction with the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CENIA), aims to reduce the time and uncertainty involved in processing building permits in Chile.
This tool is expected to make the process of obtaining building and minor works permits more efficient, predictable and transparent, by applying urban planning and construction regulations consistently.
To this end, it consists of two assistants: Norman Revi, to support the Municipal Works Departments (DOM) in reviewing files for regulatory compliance; and Clara Revi, to assist applicants in preparing their documentation and responses to observations.
Norman Revi is already operational in Providencia and Maipú, and will begin operating in Independencia, Puerto Varas, Puerto Montt and Vitacura from January 2026; Clara Revi, meanwhile, will also be available to permit applicants from January 2026.
This project by the CChC together with the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CENIA) not only represents a technological advance, but also a cultural change in the way urban projects are managed in Chile.
