Costa Rican Digital Identity: what entities verifying identities need to know

The Supreme Electoral Tribunal issued resolution 5647-E8-2025 regulating the new Costa Rican Digital Identity (IDC), but as it has not yet been published in La Gaceta, the six-month legal deadline for public and private entities to adopt it has not started.
The resolution has not yet been published in La Gaceta, so the six-month deadline for all public and private institutions to accept the IDC as a valid means of identification has not yet started to run. The deadline for compliance will start to run from the date of publication of the resolution in La Gaceta.
