The new partner at ECIJA, ranked in Band 2 by Chambers & Partners and with over 30 years of experience in brand management, joins a multidisciplinary team that is already working with some of the most prominent clients in the sector.

ECIJA has welcomed Laura Alonso and her team to strengthen its capabilities in industrial property. The new partner at ECIJA has advised top-tier international clients for many years, such as the world's largest beverage company, one of the world's most important large-scale technology firms, the owner of the best-selling cigarette brand globally, and the global governing body of football, for which she coordinates the global management of its intellectual property portfolio.

Throughout her career, Laura and her team have led the strategy to protect the trademark, design, and domain name portfolios of major multinational groups, defending iconic brands before the EUIPO and the General Court of the EU. Her appointment at ECIJA strengthens the firm's capacity to offer comprehensive advice on the protection and strategic management of brands on a global scale.

Her professional trajectory has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, where she appears in Band 2 in her area of specialization, and she also stands out in the global ranking of 250 Women in IP, positioning her as one of the leading figures in the field of industrial property worldwide. Furthermore, she is actively involved in international organizations such as the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), consolidating her position as a prominent figure in the global industrial property sector.

This initiative follows the integration, just a year ago, of Carolina Montero and her team, who are already managing significant brand assets for leading companies in Spain across sectors such as technology, fashion, and consumer goods.

In the words of Alejandro Touriño, CEO of ECIJA:

“The addition of Laura and her team significantly strengthens our industrial property practice at a time when the protection of intangible assets has become a key element of business strategy. Their international experience, track record of success in protecting these assets, and global coordination capabilities provide added value to our clients.”

For her part, Laura Alonso said:

“I am proud to join ECIJA, a leading firm in innovation and legal advisory within the digital economy. I approach this new stage with enthusiasm and the goal of contributing to the growth of the industrial property practice within a firm that is firmly committed to providing strategic and high-value-added advice that challenges traditional approaches.”

With this appointment, ECIJA strengthens its position in the field of industrial property, gathering a team of 12 highly specialized professionals and consolidating a key practice for companies in the management and protection of their intangible assets in increasingly complex and global markets.
