The technical committee of Expansión Jurídico (Spain's Financial Times partner) Awards has chosen ECIJA as finalist in a total of 5 categories
Once again, for the fifth consecutive year, the newspaper Expansion has announced the nominations for its awards for excellence in business law, where the Firm has been chosen as a finalist in up to 5 categories: best firm in digital economy, best intellectual property firm, best probono initiative, most innovative project and best lawyer of the year. This new edition of the awards, which has once again benefited from the technical assistance of IE Law School, has set a new record for participation, with up to 236 entries divided into 15 categories, from 85 firms operating in Spain.
ECIJA, winner of the Digital Economy Award (2019), the Intellectual Property and Data Protection Award and the Most Innovative Project Award (2018, 2017 and 2016), has once again shown its leadership in the business law world and aims to renew these distinctions, as well as to achieve other distinctions for which it had not been nominated in any of the previous editions.
But it is not only at a collective level that the results achieved by ECIJA are optimal. At an individual level, ECIJA has also received an important nomination, in the category of best lawyer of the year, from its founder and Executive President, Hugo Écija. For this discipline, the technical committee of the awards has taken into account the activity carried out by the Firm's President during the last year, valuing his leadership, strategic vision and the management of large scale operations.
The jury, made up of a prestigious group of 46 experts, managing partners of the largest firms in Spain and secretaries of the board of companies of the Ibex 35, will meet in the near future and will decide once again the winners of one of the most prestigious awards on the national scene.
In the words of Hugo Écija, ECIJA's Executive Chairman and founder: "This latest recognition continues ECIJA's winning streak of recent years in the Expansión Jurídico Awards, where for the fifth consecutive year the Firm continues to be recognized as a leader in innovative practices and initiatives". In this sense, he recalled that the nominations swell the list of awards as innovative European firm by the Financial Times, best TMT firm in Europe by The Lawyer and best new technology firm by Forbes.
