Lawyer and economist, Juan Carlos has experience advising multinationals, leading IBEX35 companies and startups in technology procurement, digital economy, intellectual property, advertising, artificial intelligence, video games and gambling. He has developed his entire career at ECIJA, from his start as a trainee to his appointment as manager of the TMT area in June 2023.
He teaches at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Universidad Camilo José Cela. He also participates in ECIJA Cares activities, promoting personal and professional development through sport.
Juan Carlos has advised on a number of significant transactions in the securities market, including:
- Inditex: Advising on procurement of technology products and services, improvement of the supply chain and agreements with technology suppliers.
- Grupo Prisa: Adequacy of artificial intelligence to the upcoming AI Law, assessing risks and designing an action plan.
- Banco Santander: Negotiation and drafting of technology contracts, ensuring compliance with European Banking Authority regulations.
