Francisco Berninzon is a partner and a leading figure in corporate and energy law in Peru, with over 50 years of experience in strategic legal advisory at both national and international levels
Francisco leads ECIJA’s Sustainability area and has a distinguished career in civil, commercial, and energy law, particularly in the hydrocarbons sector. He developed his professional path at prestigious firms such as Estudio Lavalle and later founded Berninzon & Benavides Abogados. His expertise includes structuring joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, business design, and business collaboration agreements in multiple jurisdictions.
Francisco has provided legal advice and representation in oil and gas exploration and production service contracts, seismic surveys, airborne magnetometry, and drilling agreements both onshore and offshore. He has led negotiations on crude oil sale contracts with Petroperú and participated in national and international bidding and tender processes. He also has experience in aviation law, including crew services contracts, aircraft sale and purchase agreements, and wet and dry lease agreements.
