With 23 years of experience, Edvin has developed a strong practice in civil, commercial, tax, alternative dispute resolution and complex litigation. He specialises in preventive and strategic legal advice for companies in various sectors, including commercial, agricultural, telecommunications, advertising, banking, finance, oil and gas and electricity.

He has extensive experience in the negotiation and drafting of civil and commercial contracts, including sale and purchase, mutual agreements, leases, partnerships, distribution, franchising and strategic alliances. In the corporate field, he has advised on the creation, organisation and administration of companies and commercial enterprises. In the area of mergers and acquisitions, he has participated in more than 30 transactions leading legal and tax due diligence processes. In the banking and financial sector, he has been involved in more than 25 transactions, structuring syndicated and subordinated loans, guarantee and administration trusts, and movable guarantees for large infrastructure projects.

• Appointed by the State of Guatemala as M&A expert in an international investment arbitration before the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), The Hague (2020).
• Arbitrator in ad hoc and institutional tribunals of CENAC (Chamber of Commerce of Guatemala) and CRECIG (Chamber of Industry of Guatemala), in investment and trade disputes
• Member of the advisory team in the structuring project of the Economic Infrastructure Development Partnership Initiative "Centro Administrativo del Estado en la Ciudad de Guatemala" (March 2014).
