Álvaro has a strong background in labour and social security law, as well as in regulatory compliance, making him a leading advisor to clients in Spain and internationally

Álvaro is a lawyer specialising in labour law, with extensive experience in the public and private sector. He has advised companies on legal and social matters, including labour law, social security and occupational risk prevention. A Labour and Social Security Inspector on leave of absence, he worked in the Inspectorates of Vizcaya, Ciudad Real and Madrid, supervising regulatory compliance in various organisations.

Prior to joining ECIJA, Álvaro was a director in the labour area of KPMG and, previously, he held the position of Director General of Labour at the Regional Institute of Health and Safety at Work of the Community of Madrid. In this role, he managed the labour administrative procedures during the COVID-19 health crisis, with a special focus on temporary lay-offs (ERTES).

In addition to his work as a lawyer, Álvaro is a member of the Advisory Board of the Labour Section of the Madrid Bar Association and actively participates as a speaker at seminars specialising in labour law.
