Antas da Cunha Ecija advises Quadrante on the acquisition of Geometric Talks’ engineering division
Antas da Cunha Ecija provided comprehensive legal advice to Quadrante, as the purchaser, on the acquisition of Geometric Talks’ Engineering business unit. The team comprised Carolina Meireles, counsel, Tânia Nogueira, associate, and Tomás Moita, associate, from the Commercial, Corporate and M&A practice, who were responsible for structuring and negotiating the transfer.
The transaction strengthens the Substations and Transmission and Distribution Lines departments within Quadrante’s Energy practice and involves the transfer of the unit’s client portfolio and contracts, associated assets, the brand and the relevant intellectual property.
Carolina Meireles explains that the team was responsible for drafting and negotiating the contract and for preparing all corporate and contractual documentation relating to the transfer. She also emphasises that the transaction reflects Quadrante’s strategic commitment to strengthening its capabilities in energy infrastructure engineering, an area expected to account for around half of the group’s turnover in the near future.
