ECIJA acquires Rooter Legal and opens office in Santiago de Chile

ECIJA is pleased to announce that has reached an agreement to incorporate Rooter Legal, which has offices in Madrid and Santiago de Chile.

ECIJA is an established law firm included amongst the ‘best national firms’ in Spain as ranked by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, the most prestigious global legal rankings. Rooter Legal, established four years ago, has made an outstanding contribution in strategic consultancy and legal advice to the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sectors. Rooter Legal has led significant projects in collaboration with major players such as Google, UN, ICEX, WIPO and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

This development will reinforce ECIJA’s presence in Latin America. The opening of a new office in Santiago de Chile will serve as a hub for projects based in Latin America and will assist ECIJA’s aim to extend its leadership in the TMT and intellectual property sectors in the region.

In Hugo Ecija’s words, managing partner of ECIJA: ‘The integration of Rooter Legal into ECIJA’s structure is a strategic move for the firm, which expands its service portfolio as a legal- consulting firm in the digital and entertainment sectors, and reinforces its international presence with the opening of a new office in Latin America’.
